Benefits of Early Morning Training
There’s nothing wrong with training in the afternoon or evening. We all live different lives and have employment or family demands that dictate when and how long we can train. However, I think that there are some hidden benefits to training first thing the morning. If you’re not a morning person or you’ve just always preferred training in the evening, give it a shot. You may learn to love it.
Consistency: If you don’t get it done first thing in the morning, you’re much more likely not to get it done. Knock it out first thing in the morning and move on with your day.
Your Body Loves Routine: Your body’s endocrine system and circadian rhythms will adjust to your morning routine. Not only will you sleep better, but you will begin to have much more energy as the day goes on.
Better Decisions: You’re more likely to make more conscious food and hydration decisions as the day goes on.
Boosted Metabolism: Training first thing in the morning kick starts your metabolism and allows your body to burn more calories throughout the day.
Alone Time: There’s something incredibly peaceful and tranquil about being on the roads or trails before most of the world is awake. That alone time will certainly put you at ease and leave you feeling fresh as you prepare to take on your day.
Mood Improvement: You’ll feel better. Endorphins are feel-good hormones and are a byproduct of training. That “buzz” will stay with you for most of your morning.
